Shepherd’s Pie is a classic easy family dish that you can always prepare in advance. It is traditionally made with lamb’s meat as the title ‘shepherd’ suggests. However, beef or even quorn mince can work equally as well if you prefer. Hot cross buns certainly conjure up memories of Easter time for me. With sweet smelling spices, sultanas and a sticky glaze, the hot cross bun is synonymous with Easter. Sometimes it can be a welcome change to jazz up a Victoria sponge cake with an alternative flavour by using fruits such as blueberries or raspberries. In the summer months, when classic British fruits are in season, I love to add fresh fruit to my baking recipes.
