To make my Chocolate Cake Tray Bake, you will need the following ingredients:
1. 120g caster sugar
2. 120g butter, softened
3. 150g self-raising flour
4. 1 tsp baking powder
5. 3 medium eggs
6. 40g cocoa powder
For the chocolate icing:
1. 100g butter, softened
2. 50g icing sugar
3. 50g cocoa powder
Before we begin, grease your square cake tin with either butter or oil to help prevent sticking.
Next, preheat the oven to Gas Mark 4/180C/350F.
Step 2
Once you are happy with the consistency of your cake batter, then spoon it into the cake tin.
Smooth the cake batter out into the corners of the baking tin and try to even out the surface using a wooden spoon or spatula.
Step 4
To make the chocolate icing, combine the butter, cocoa powder and icing sugar together in a small bowl. Use a whisk or a wooden spoon to mix it together until it is smooth and creamy in consistency.
